Biography

Federico Olivetti

Federico Olivetti graduated in History and Philosophy at the University of Padua.

In New York attended acting courses, held by Salem Ludwig and Geraldine Baron at the HB Studio.

Luca Ronconi’s assistant in “Infinities”, “‘Tis a Pity She’s a Whore”, “Bacchae”, “The Frogs”; dramaturg in “Professor Bernhardi” and in the opera “The Barber of Seville”.

In France he was assistant for Jacques Lassalle, Benno Besson, Bernard Sobel and Jean Francois Sivadier.

Wrote several plays – such as: “They are just Animals”, “Decalogue” and “The Tears of the Fools”.

Restarted studying acting, with Susan Batson and Ivana Chubbuck.

Attended the four-year project “Island of Pedagogy” led by Anatolij Vassiliev in Venice and Wroclaw.

Wrote several screenplays – such as: ”Night, beyond the Border”, “The Sleepwalker” and “Ghosts’ Carnival”.

In 2019, “The Prisoner” was selected at the Venice Film Festival.

Trained at Ipotesi Cinema (cinema school directed by Ermanno Olmi) and at New York University (Tisch School of The Arts).
